Tweetbot 1.4.3

Today, Apple has approved Tweetbot v1.4.3. This version has the following:

  • Added sleep time for push notifications (notification quiet hours)
  • Option to receive push mentions only from people you follow
  • When emailing a link, the subject is the page title if sent from a web view
  • Blocking/Reporting for spam now deletes associated tweets from the timeline

State of Push Notifications

For those who still don’t know yet, push notifications have been opened up to everyone. We also want to let you know that push notifications have been running flawlessly on our server so we plan to keep this service free for our users.

Push Hiccups

Tapbots push notification system depends on Twitter’s Site Stream product. Twitter considers this a beta product and while we’ve found it to be very stable there are going to be hiccups along the way. Over the last few days we’ve experienced some issues with the Site Streams server going down and when this happens, push notifications will stop working. When their servers comes back up you may receive a number of notifications as our system tries to catch up on messages it may have missed while the streams were down.

We are also aware that some of you are still not receiving notifications. Make sure you’ve tried everything we’ve posted in our Tweetbot Q & A. If you are getting all notifications except for DM’s, let us know on our @tweetbot account. We are working closely with Twitter to iron out any remaining bugs. We appreciate everyone’s patience on this.

What’s Next

We are hard at work on v1.5 and will be bringing a new feature that has been highly requested. And no, it’s not twitlonger or an iPad version. :)

The list of negative things, which I should mention in my article about TweetBot, is getting smaller with every update. :)

Placing my bet on a timeline filter feature, which would be sweeeeeet!

No it’s not going to be landscape.
If anyone follows Mark Jardine you would know it’s the new mute feature.

No landscape, no localization languages. No twitlonger and not iPad update. And in tese terms. Presumptuous….even if it was free I would not understood the reasons for the hardness words. Is a good app but is not the best app. You should try to grow.

I’m sorry, I have to stay on the “Pleeeeeeease, Twitlonger support!” train; just for the occasional tweet that goes over 140. Other than that, GREAT APP!

Got all excited on reading the “blocked users not in timeline” thing, but discovered those users still appear when viewing another Twitter user’s lists. Shame :-(

Thanks for the regular updates though!

Hey guys,

There’s only one thing I really miss on my iPad – and that’s tweetbot…. I don’t like the official twitter client…. So please do an iPad version…

Another vote for an iPad version here.

I’m guessing either landscape or being able to see your own tweets in your list.

I haven’t used tweetbot in a while. When I saw the 1.4.3 update notes with push notifications I launched the app. I was asked to login again via oAuth and did it. Enabled push notifications and it works for everything. But it won’t push direct messages.

I am using iOS 5 beta 4.

Keep the good work! Tweetbot is far better the the official twitter app, and push notifications was the only missing feature for me to completely switch =)
1000 kudos!

Awesome app you guys! I would go crazy for some image previews and a dark theme!
What’s this about tweetlonger? 140 should be enough for anybody! :) Try Tumblr, or blogger, rumor has it you can write as much as you want! If there only was a way to point twitter followers to it..

Love the app, only few things I’m would love to see in future updates:
Preview of photo’s in timeline would be great! Direct links in timeline.
And of course.. iPad and Mac version with timeline sync!

Why do you all want this Twitlonger thing? The idea of Twitter is keeping it short, isn’t it?

I would love to see TweetMarker support. As long as there are no Tapbots Twitter clients for other platforms, this is the only chance to keep in sync. Please think about it.

Only thing left to say: keep up the good work. And please stay focused on robust software, as you have done so far. Who needs new features as long as the software keeps crashing.

Regards

Please, develop an iPad app. I don’t mind to pay once again for a HD version. I really miss this app on the iPad.
