Weightbot v1.2
Greetings, International Weightbot owners! We are happy to announce that Weightbot is now localized for the following languages: Danish, Dutch, Italian, German, French, Japanese, Portuguese, and Swedish. We’ve also implemented the stones measurement for those in the U.K.
Thanks goes to Peter Antonius, Dan Brendstrup, Guy Parrot, Willem Delrue, Felipe Castro, E-WA, Maximilian Schöning, and Filippo Spiezia for their hard work in helping us bring this localization release to you. We also want to thank our U.K. friends that helped us implement the Stones measurement.
What else is new?
While this release was primarily for our international users, we did manage to clean up the graph views a little so the moving average line doesn’t drown out your plotted line. We also fixed the bug where shake-to-erase happened a bit too easily. The data view is still in development and will be available soon as v1.3.

Wooh, that’s great news about the stones measurement for the UK.
If I can somehow revise my review in the iTunes store, I will. (Would still like to see body fat entry somewhere though ;) )
This is the most retarded update ever. Useless for US user. Didn’t fix anything they should have fixed.
I know it sounds crazy, but the world actually doesn’t revolve around the United States. :) We sell a lot of copies in other countries and they have been quite patient with us. I’m sorry this update is not up to your standards.
Care to let us know what we should have fixed? I’ve been led to believe we’ve been pretty good about making Weightbot a better product for our users. Localization just happened to be the next important update.
Pay no attention to “Damn”. As a Canadian user of Weightbot, I am extremely impressed by this app. I will even go so far as to say that it is without a doubt the most aesthetically pleasing and user friendly app I have on my phone. Kudos to you and we hope to see more wonderful apps from you!
Sheesh, “Damn” is a bit of a (well, insert whatever term you prefer here). I love this app and although I didn’t need to localization update for myself, I have appreciated the past updates and look forward to the next. Keep up the good work!
I love the app and have no problem with updating for the sake of international improvements. My one request would be to allow users to turn off the average line. While I like to know, I prefer to look at my current weight which is a lot lower than my average weight. Thanks!
I love the app, but I’ll be skipping this update just because I don’t want that “sale” icon to replace Weightbot’s regular icon. Drives me nuts. I’ll update once the sale is over though.
I also wanted to leave my one feature request, but I don’t see an email to send it to, and I don’t want to have to register to leave it on the web page, so I’ll do it here: you really need to add body fat percentage. Home scales have had this feature for years now, it’s quite prevalent, and I think it’s more essential that you folks realize.
Hey Joe,
That sale icon actually only affects the icon in iTunes. We would never do that if it affected the icon on your device. To prove that, check our app in the App Store on your phone. :)
This app looks beautiful, but I have a couple suggestions:
- Track body fat! Many scales today measure body fat and it would be useful to input and see this as well as weight.
- I’m not sure what averaging mechanism you use, but I would recommend a the weight exponential one outlined in ‘The Hacker’s Diet’
http://www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet/www/subsection1_4_1_0_1.htm
- Allow the data to be exported (e.g. send a csv file to my email) so more complex analysis can be done.
Thanks and I hope this app gets even better in the future.
The best app in the app store. One complaint with the new version is the new splash screen. I miss the old one. Other than that, I love it. Keep it up.
Bought this in the UK, but how do I have weight displayed in lbs? I can only see option for it to be in St or Kg…
I’m from the UK and have happily used weightbot with my scales (which measure in LBS), with the latest update there is only stones which means I have to do a conversion before entering the data in to weightbot now. :(
Any chance to put LBS as an option?
Nice app. One feature it would like to see is in the graph views it shows you your goal and current average weights in blue. I would like to be able to scroll to the right (into the future) to see what is the estimated date when I should reach my goal weight. In other words, I would like some kind of e.t.a. to reaching my goal, either in the graphs or even just a date somewhere on an info screen. You already have the blue line showing average weight loss going into the future, all I would like to do is scroll to the future to see when it might reach the goal line
We will provide the UK locale with the LBS option again in the next update. So there will be Stones, LBS, and KG in the settings. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks ahead for your patience.
Guys, great app! But, loading screen and setup panel were much much better in 1.0… Please return it back :-)
Great app. Definitely one of the most elegant and well-designed/conceived apps in the AppStore. I’d love it more though if the AppStore would actually let me update to v1.2. Has anyone else run into this problem?
It was same for me, then I just pressed buy and got an update for free… Think it’s bug.
Mark:
You’re right! I just updated and the icon is fine. :) Thanks for letting me know. (Now see if you can talk to the South Park people because their icon really does have that “sale” banner on it. Grr.)
Nice app but I was a little disappointed that I cannot toggle to lbs as the description says it should. Not sure if this is anything to do with UK localization. I live in the UK but I much prefer working in lbs. Nice to know you are going to fix it in an update.
Thanks for the tip Phillip et all. Worked like a charm. Weird (bug) though.
Weightbot is a great piece of software… easy to use and focused on the task itself. But I terribly miss the option to manage more than one person!!! I’d love to start a contest with my girl, but Weightbot only manages a single persons data… Please upgrade that as soon as possible – please!
ahhhh Now my measurements are in either stone or kg and my scales weigh in lb’s! Please bring this option back asap! Converting from lb to kg/stone is going to be a pain in the ass in the meantime, I’ll prob go back to using the free app “WeightTrack” until this is done.
Beautiful app. Please add body fat tracking.
Body fat scales are so inexpensive and common and tracking body fat percentage along with weight is SO MUCH more useful, that’d be a great option to add.
(Great minds think alike, David, I scrolled to the bottom to add my thought and saw you’d just said it, too!)
Hi, I am in the UK, and bought from the UK app store, however, I do not have stones, as an option, its either lbs or kgs… how can I get it to stones?
Ignore my last comment, would appear your app looks up the international format, mine was set to US.. :)
I’m having the same problem as Luke – despite buying the App in the UK I can’t get it to display stones and pounds. I’ve tried toggling the SI / US button, but all I can choose between is kg and lbs.
DOH !!!!
Sorted – sorry – found the International settings (for the first time) and now reside happily in the UK not USA.
Hey guys,
Great app… been using since early December, very close to reaching my goal weight.
Just though I shoot out an idea… when viewing the overall month in landscape mode, it would be cool if we could somehow tie a note with the different weight entries. This way, when the gray dot is way over the blue line, I could select and see the reason why… ate too much popcorn that night, must remember to stay away from popcorn :)
Anyways, keep up the good work.
Alex.
When will the feature to export the data in a portable format be ready? I’ve been eagerly awaiting that for some time. Checl out an app called Vibration, I suggested that he set it up to e-mail a file with csv data and he did that in a matter of days and sent me a beta release.
Great little app. However the avarage only works if you enter a weight every day. It looks like dates without a weight entered adds as the initial starting weight. If you only a weight once a week the days between should add to the average with – well yes, an average. Also the “goal” legend should be to left on the line. You will always reach your goal to right and the goal line covers the graph. Shakes is fun but would love a button to clear entries… Will reach my first goal next week end.
how do I change the rate I reach my goal? I want to set it to a certain lbs/day or lbs/week, how can I do this?
