Say Hello to Pastebot
App #0003 has finally launched! It’s been 6 long months since we started on this project. I don’t want to turn this into a long post about how we got here, because all that really matters is we made it and hope you’ll enjoy it. Pastebot is definitely different than our previous apps. Some would say it’s riskier. But there’s no other way to grow and move forward without taking risks. After all, who would have thought anyone could make a living creating software for mobile devices? Pastebot was a lot more work than our previous apps, but it also does so much more than them. We are happy with the results and hope you are too.

A Quick Thank You
We want to thank our customers for keeping us driven to make more apps. The reviews, emails, and twitter posts have really kept us excited about what we do. We also want to thank our beta testers for all the support and feedback they have given us. They truly helped make Pastebot a better product than it was. And last but definitely not least, we want to thank our localizers (Guy Parrot, Yuzuru Shiraiwa and Tobias Brummer) who have taken their free time to help translate our app into other languages.

Gorgeous interface (as per usual from TapBots), and I have a feeling this will become one of those “how did I live without this app before?” apps.
I was just lamenting the other day how annoying it is to pull something from my iPhone to my Mac. I started using DropBox, which is nice, but this is even faster and easier. The photo rotate/crop is a HUGE plus, too.
Kudos, and keep up the good work guys!
Awesome as always!
Amazingly useful. The sync feature is the best part in my opinion.
There are so many possible uses for this app!
[Pasted from my iPod touch via Pastebot]
wow, i just read about it on twitter and decided to buy, sadly iTunes and Apple hates you and i and decided to reject my purchase. :( hope i can get it before the price goes up or i forget to get it.
Here’s what itunes has got to say: http://grab.by/1cFl
also notice how it tells me that i can’t buy music, BUT i’m not trying to!!! I want a app! :)
This is actually an idea I had too. Glad you implemented it in such a beautiful way! Now make a Mac app with the same features and add Mac-to-Mac sync ;).
I think it’s genius :)
and it’s even cooler that you tried new ways. Hope it will be a big success too.
Great job. Love the sync, too. best designed iphone apps IMHO. Bought it without thinking.
Gorgeous app guys, already bought. Keep the great and stylish apps coming.
Awesome App! Well deserving of the bots treatment :)
Stunning. Sync is genius. Definitely a killer app.
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for–Pastebot is now on my iPhone’s main menubar:) The only thing I would ask for is to have the Mac app save items offline via a user-defined keystroke. That way, there would be no need to awaken my iPhone each time I come across something I want to sync over to it.
Wow! A great app! I just downloaded it now and I’m amaze how polished this app for a version 1. :D very useful for my day to day activities. May I request for a bluetooth sync feature? That would be nice! (is this allowed in the SDK?) keep up the grear work guys! Looking forward for robot number 4!
Ahh, another instant purchase this week… The UI is fantastic, obviously, but the sound effects are equally awesome.
I’m always looking forward to convergence; the moment when I have a single handheld device from which I can do all of my work. The iPhone has pushed me so far in that direction that I simply can’t look back at this point. Very rarely, however, does an app come along that truly utilizes all that the iPhone has to offer. Pastebot is such an application.
Pastebot is gorgeous, snappy, and in short, a really hawt piece of code, and I’m only talking about it’s look and feel. The execution is solid. When you use it you do really get the feel that the mechanics of it are hyper-calibrated and ready for your next click.
I use several iPhone apps to help me with large-scale daily research on the web. I was forced to assemble a complex and multi-app workflow in order to prepare daily digests of raw data which I can then prepare for emailing to clients, or posting to social media locations.
Thanks to Pastebot, This process has gone from 4 applications down to 2. Any hardened database warrior can tell you what a time saver this sort of workflow reduction can be. In my field, time really is money.
To give all an idea of how impressed I am with the quality of this app, and how grateful I am for how well it works for my needs, I would have paid $20 for Pastebot. No joke. Thanks Tapbots. Keep up the good work. I can’t wait to see what you turn out next!
Got the app … even though I’m on windows …
Can we have a windows sync app? pretty please?
please support to paste multiple photos to Mac at the same time!!!
Is OS10.4 scheduled to be supported?
Awesome and very handy app! Especially the Mac sync is gorgeous.
As always the better is the enemy of the good! Some suggestions:
- re-ordering of snippets
- multiple photos copied in one action should be splittable into several single snippets and vice versa
- a histogramm tool for photos could combine the most frequent image correction tools in one filter (contrast/brightness)
- if Apple will ever allow background services or offers something similar: record all clipboard activity in the background…
One more thing:
How about sharing snippets between two or more iPhones via Bluetooth or Wifi? That would be WOW!
Ranjit: We still need to decide on Windows support. It really depends on how complex it would be to do it as well as the demand for it.
Mac Fan: It’s something we are working on.
Mal: 10.4 won’t be supported. That’s 2 operating systems behind. :)
Ingo: Thanks for the requests. We’ll explore some of them. And we are exploring other ways of sharing clippings.
Ditto what everyone above has said – love this gem of an application and am looking forward to exploring its full potential.
Only request so far is a repeat of Ingo’s comment – would it be possible to split out (into separate snippets) photos that were copied as a batch. Pastebot is a great place to store random Camera Roll photos that I don’t want to leave in the Camera Roll, and being able to select multiple photos and drop them as separate snippets would be just perfect :)
Thanks again for a fabulous product!
Pastebot is awesomeness!!! I bought it instantly!
One thing that would make it even more awesome is if you could also share to another iPhone with Pastebot installed.
Keep up the brilliant work..
Keep it coming, a send to text/TextExpander support would be nice for next version, no? =)
hi. Can you tell me if there will be a Tiger/PPC version of the Pastebot sync ?! It would be really usefull. thanks..
Amazing app by the way. just finished downloading it.
You say 10.4 is 2 OS behing, but is the last possible to G3 and G4 and many people use them. (10.5 and G4 processors doens’t combine very well)..
Please, 10.4 version!
I love this app! The ability to sync with my Mac is a great feature. I hope the developer continues to add features – I would love to see expanded text editing with find/replace that includes regular expressions.
I really really admire the apps that you guys make. They are simply some of the best designed apps on the iPhone.
I first bought Convertbot, liked it so much I ended up buying Weightbot even though I have no use for it at all. Just bought Pastebot without even questioning it.
I hope you guys bring us more amazing apps our way.
This is a great App guys :D
Simple, clean, does what it’s supposed to and the Interface is just coolness incarnate :)
You guys should design the next iPhone Interface :D
Hej!
I decided to buy Pastebot last night before going to sleep, and I just used it. It’s awesome!
I noticed Paul is the developer of PTHPasteboard PRO for the Mac, so Pastebot is in fact a port! (I’m joking ;-))
I wish I could create such great apps as you two, guys. I admire you.
just downloaded pastebot and pastebot sync – seems to be a great app – I tried to sync something from my iPhone to my MAC, but I can’t find it :-(
Where does it ‘land’?
@Birthe: If you are trying to move text from your iPhone to mac, you need to paste into an actual application that supports pasting text. If it’s an image, it should paste into an app that accepts image pastes or onto your desktop.
Pastebot is a great application, solve a lot of problems. So, I need mix image, URL & images in order to compose emails (I need extract text from a multiples Mail at same time)
I downloaded Pastebot and I have to say, it is one of the most useful and well designed apps I have ever seen!
Keep making those bots!
Please support 10.4. There are many computers in my house still running it. I even have a few with 10.3
It’s less useful than I thought. I’d like to be able to pick the item I want to paste when I try to paste something. Not sure if it’s possible, for example, add another context menu item to iPhone’s default context menu during pasting. Or when the paste command selected, popup another pasteBot menu that will allow us to pick the content from the pasteBot list. Then it will be a 5 stars even if there is no PC sync.
Guys, you’ve done it again. I fell in love with Pastebot straight away and I had to promote it on my site! http://wp.me/snzsz-pastebot
Brilliant work!
This was triumph! 
im making a note here, Huge Success!
…it’s hard to overstate my …satisfaction!
Aperture Science…
We do what we must, because we can..
Keep it Simple guys!
Thank You!
glaDoS
I love Pastebot! I wish you’d use that 0003 thing at the bottom for a count of how many clippings you have on your clipboard.
